Back Pain
Back pain affects around 80 per cent of the population at some stage of life. Of those affected by back pain, around 60-70 per cent become repeat sufferers, which means initial and ongoing management of back pain is vital. Our physiotherapy treatment and management combine education, hands-on therapy, exercise prescription (home-exercise program), strength & conditioning and an ongoing management plan to reduce the incidence of further back pain.
Back pain is seen in the neck, thoracic spine, lower back, SI joint and into the pelvis. We commonly see and treat conditions such as:
- Postural dysfunction
- Cervicogenic headaches
- Stiff spinal segments
- Radiculopathy (“nerve entrapment”)
- Spinal instability
- Facet joint injuries
- Disc injuries
- Lumbar stress fractures
- Locked or wry neck
Our physiotherapists understand that back pain can feel debilitating and affect people greatly in their everyday lives. We pride ourselves in administering evidence-based treatment strategies to target your individual impairment and help restore your body to optimal function.
